The last Unified Art Workshop will take place in Abu Dhabi this Saturday (February 23) where budding young artists across the UAE are invited to join People of Determination and showcase their creative skills.
Organized by the Local Organizing Committee (LOC) of Special Olympics World Games Abu Dhabi 2019 in collaboration with the U.S. Embassy and AMIDEAST, the workshop, which will be held 10am -1pm at Art Studio, Manarat Al Saadiyat, is open to boys and girls aged between 8 -18 years.
People with and without intellectual disabilities will be able to develop their creative skills by engaging in fun activities as well as producing eye-catching art pieces on the theme of decoupage.

Art, like sport, can unite children through their shared love of creativity, play, exploration, learning new skills and interaction with others regardless of age or ability.

The Unified Art Workshops are part of a program of community events taking place across the UAE to raise awareness of Special Olympics World Games Abu Dhabi 2019, its principals and goals.

Along with unified sporting events, the workshops also help to break down cultural and societal barriers and support the World Games establish a legacy of inclusivity that will benefit youngsters of all ages, backgrounds and abilities for generations to come.
