Has your fitness resolution already fallen by the wayside? Walk Unified has got to be the best stroll you can possibly take in Abu Dhabi right now!
Get moving with the Walk Unified campaign, an initiative launched by the Higher Committee of the Special Olympics World Games 2019, which aims to bring people together and inspire healthy lifestyles. The UAE has a wider goal to integrate people with intellectual disabilities into social initiatives and Walk Unified does just that. The walk is a weekly event in Abu Dhabi that will take place every Friday leading up to the 2018 Special Olympics IX MENA Games.
H.H. Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai Joined thousands of community members to officially kick off of the first Unified Walk. Sheikh Mohamed noted that this initiative is also a message to the community that sports bring people together. Volunteering your time to such causes is good for both your physical and emotional health.
So, if you’re ready to get back on track, join the movement every Friday from January 26th to March 30th from 3pm to 6pm at Umm Al Emarat Park.
