Spain’s Pablo Larrazabal, winner of the 2014 Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship presented by EGA played alongside Zimbabwe’s Special Olympics athlete Munyaradzi Musariri as part of a unified team. The two played together ahead of the European Tour event and proved just how great unified sports teams are.

Larazabal spoke about how much he enjoyed the experience:

“I had a great game with Munya. It’s great to meet people who are pushing hard and trying every day to be better at our sport.”

Abu Dhabi was proud to host Musariri as part of their ongoing efforts to promote inclusion of people with intellectual disabilities.

“I became involved in Special Olympics through school and was picked by coaches to play golf, the sport has helped me so much in my life,” said Misaariri.

The accomplished athlete, who’s won 5 gold medals, was also pleased to have made his first trip to Abu Dhabi. He continued:

“I’ve flown from Zimbabwe for this tournament and it’s my first time here in Abu Dhabi. It was good to play with a professional like Pablo, I would love to play with him another time.”
