During the Special Olympics World Summer Games 2019 we will host the Special Olympics Dance Sport Challenge with several dance events.

Following the Dance Contest in Los Angeles, USA (2015) and the World Dance Days in Graz, Austria (2017), the SO Dance Sport Challenge in Abu Dhabi will be the biggest dance competition ever. 

We are expecting about 180 participants from almost 30 different SO programs from all regions. 

Dancers will perform in four different disciplines (Ballroom Dances, Streetdance, Ballet and Specialty) and in different categories such as Solo, Duos, Couples and Teams.
 
Dancesport is now a demonstration sport. The goal is to make it an official competition sportwithin the next two years.

Free practice days start from the 12th of March and the timings may change depending on the sporting schedules. We will discuss practice opportunities during our first mandatory coaches meeting on TUE, 03/12/19 at 10:00 am at the Squash court 1, NYU campus.
